Dubuk / Purpura - Meconium (V20)

A split release of monolithic proportions, these two artists excavate down to the marrow of their being and return to the surface with music so ferocious, loud, joyful, aggressive, tentative, measured and elegaic. Dubuk plumbs the cavernous depths and finds exultation and hope intertwined with the grit and filth, embracing it all. Purpura, with her second release on the label, presents two more chapters in her unrelenting pursuit of the sublime. Waves of tone and noise that culminate in pure auditory abolition.

"Meconium is the first fecal excretion of a newborn child, composed of bile, mucus and epithelial cells. It is a dark greenish mess, discharged shortly after birth.
We are two extreme electronic musicians who have become mothers. We find ourselves diving between harsh walls of noise and tender caresses, between angry guttural screams from hell and sweet, cute laughs in bed. It's surprising how well these two universes can coexist in one body, containing all the hate religions and fascists deserve and all the love that is ever possible to have for our kids.
This is a release where we want to shout out this coexistence. Mother artists do not die after they have children, our world changes radically and BEWARE, we have become more powerful."
