Bristol-based noise maximalist Monika Badly has been carving out a defiantly singular style of extravagant aural belligerence for some time. Never shy to incorporate a melange of styles and approaches, the result has consistently been defiantly and unapologetically forthright.

With ‘I Don’t Want You To Know’, Monika fearlessly delves into torments both personal and universal, laying them exposed with a dauntless honesty and fortitude. That, combined with years of experience honing her raw, recalcitrant and furiously flamboyant approach to noise making, culminates in a release as euphorically immense as it is both punishing and elegiac.

Each track on ‘I Don’t…’ bathes in a saturated, monumental presence, taking in brutally astringent assaults, cavernous dubby soundscapes and scorched earth ambience. Even at its most despondent and abstruse this work oscillates with a profoundly feverish energy. No matter how dark the subject matter nor the volatility of its conception, ‘I Don’t…’ is a staggeringly eviscerating and compelling document presented with unflinching determination and resolve.
