Stable - Empty Gestures (V30)

Stable presents six new tracks of sharp abstractions, thunderous noise and harsh-gloom electronics. ‘Empty Gestures’ is an attempt to produce something more wide-screen and enveloping, broadening out from the provocative, piercing textures of prior releases and wrapping them in a climate of suffocating restraint and existential dread.

Focusing more on space, environment and bass-heavy atmospherics, tracks like ‘Relief’ and opener ‘Built Scared’ attempt to submerge the listener, creating a hypnotic sonic fugue state that is broken up by the prickly rhythmic convulsions of ’So Wise’, the warped sheets of disharmonic fluctuation on ‘There’s Always A Cunt At The Front’ and the propulsive jackhammer pulse of the title track. The overall effect is one of foreboding and agitation, an itch that can’t be scratched.
