Inspired by a stay in the respiratory ward, situated in the depth of Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Cavernous, haunted wards filled with patients breathing some of their last breaths, the constant close presence of death is everywhere. Rickety, off-kilter rhythms, shards of serrated tone and washes of blown out noise. The combination of archaic, dilapidated machinery and rows of men aggressively forced to face their mortality as their lungs and bodies fail.
