WHITEHILL//POSSIDENTE - 'SCRAPS' (V36)

Scraps’ is the result of intensive exploration, invention, assemblage, processing, editing, re-editing and continued exploration.

From sparse, brittle foundations, noted Berlin-based improvisers Paolo Possidente (Pietra Tonale, PhoLo0, Blueing electronics) and Benjamin Whitehill (M/S/M/S, Scree Fucking Junk, Ystlum Gwyn), alongside esteemed vocal improvisor Erika Sofia Sollo (Lapsus Lumine) on some tracks, have spun a web of multi-textured, warped abstraction, taking the path of most resistance from the groundwork up to the final garnishes.

The eight tracks presented on ‘Scraps’ are like snapshots of exercises in constant scrutiny; nothing is fixed, every element is in constant motion. ‘Scraps’ acts more like a proposition. a possible result of a more much elaborate and complex inquiry into how far you can bend and warp structure, tone and texture itself before it becomes blissfully untethered from its origins.
